The Philippine Boxing Ring Officials of Central Visayas held its general assembly and officer elections on August 12, 2026, at The Coffee Bar inside G Mall in Cebu City. The gathering brought together the region's licensed referees and judges to chart the organization's direction for the coming term. Edgar Olalo, a well-known ring official and businessman, was elected president by a wide margin, securing the top post for the 2027-2028 cycle.

• PBO-CV formally reaffirmed its backing of the Philippine Boxing Federation, following guidance from the Games and Amusements Board.
• Members were briefed on the upcoming GAB Convention set for September 2026 in Panglao, Bohol, with delegates agreeing to travel there together at their own expense.
• A revised contribution or fee schedule for accredited officials was approved and put into effect right away to support the group's operations.
• The organization confirmed that group insurance coverage for all accredited officials remains active and uninterrupted.
• A former member was welcomed back into PBO-CV through a unanimous vote of the assembly.

All posts were decided through open nomination, formal seconding, and recorded balloting in front of the full membership. Olalo, a seasoned Cebu boxing judge, takes over the presidency after winning by a decisive margin, while Pesons rounds out four and a half decades of service as a licensed official by stepping into the vice-presidency. Nic Banal, who also designed the PBO-CV logo, continues as secretary-general, with a treasurer elected to oversee finances and Carlos Costa managing media and public information duties.

Following his election, Olalo spoke to the assembly about unity and shared purpose among Central Visayas officiating ranks. He expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and framed the leadership change as a reflection of the group's commitment to excellence and brotherhood. He also spoke of his intention to follow GAB regulations closely, treat every official fairly, and work toward stronger ties with other officiating groups in the region, describing Central Visayas as home for him and his fellow officials.
